  • 1 lb Ziti Pasta
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 jar Marinara Sauce (24 oz)
  • 15 oz Ricotta Cheese
  • 0.5 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black Pepper

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook ziti pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  • Stir in marinara sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • In a large bowl, combine cooked ziti pasta, meat sauce, ricotta cheese, and 0.25 cup of Parmesan cheese. Mix well.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, replace the ground beef with vegetables such as mushrooms, bell peppers, and zucchini.
