  • 0.25 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.75 cup chocolate chips optional

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips, if using.
  • Drop by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops are slightly cracked.
  • Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
